Q1: How do I check for new messages?

A: Click on "Folders" or "Inbox" to check for new messages.

 

Q2: My name in the "From" Field is misspelled? How do I change it?

A: Please contact Vianet Technical Support at 1-800-788-0363 to have your name corrected.

 

Q3: How do I empty the trash?

A: To empty the trash:

  1. Click on the trash folder
  2. Click on the the "Select All" button at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click the "Purge Selected" button.
Note: Items that have been in the trash longer than 7 days will be removed automatically.

Q4: How do I add entries to my address book?

A: To add a single address:

  1. Click on the "Address Book" button or the email address in a message you have received.
  2. Type a name for the new entry in the "Add a New Contact or Group Named" field and then click on the "Create" button.
  3. Enter the "Contacts Name" "Contacts Email Address" and click on the "Add Contact" button.

A2: To create a group with multiple recipients:

  1. Click on the "Address Book" button or the email address in a message you have received.
  2. Type a group name in the "Add a New Contact or Group Named" field and then click on the "Create" button.
  3. Enter the first "Contacts Name" "Contacts Email Address" and click on the "Add Contact" button.
  4. Repeat the steps above until you have entered the desired amount of contacts to the new group.

 

Q5: Can I import my address book from another email program or webmail utility?

A: No. Contacts must be entered manually.

 

Q6: How do I open or save an attachment?

A: Click the "download" link at the bottom of the page and save the file to a convenient location on your computer.

Q7: Can I view more than 10 messages at a time?

A: This setting can be changed by clicking on the "Options" button and setting the "Messages per page" value from 10 to 20, 50, 100 and 250.

 

Q8: How do I attach a file when composing a message?

A: To attach a file:

  1. Click on the "0 Attachments" button at the bottom of the page.
  2. Click on the "Browse" button.
  3. Locate the file on your computer and double click on it.
  4. Click on the "Upload" button. (This process may take a while depending on the file size.)
  5. You now have the option to attach more files, send the message by clicking on the "Send" button or continue composing by clicking on the "Preview" button at the bottom of the page.

 

Q9: Does the contents of the Spam folder count towards my mailbox quota?

A: No. The contents of the Spam folder does not count towards your mailbox quota.

 

Q10: How do I retrieve/change my username and/or password?

A: Please contact Vianet Technical Support at 1-800-788-0363 to retrieve/change your username and/or password.
